bamboo - light - paper

the technique of splitting and bending bamboo (through heat) allows for free design and construction of light objects and shadow casters. paper as a surface (folded, modular, ...) and bamboo as a line complement each other in creating structures of light and shadow. the material language of bamboo and paper is closely related to the form-finding.


for participants to bring

  • smock/apron
  • pruning shears (if available)
  • scissors
  • craft knife
  • cutting mat (if available)
  • metal ruler (if available)
  • translucent papers that may be processed letters, etc.
  • wood glue (e.g. ponal)
